PRODUCT OVERVIEWOUR PRODUCTSHy2gen is about implementing the DBOO (Design – Build – Own – Operate) model across all projects to effectively implement the hydrogen value chain and to ensure that knowhow is continuously exchanged between operations & plant design. The Products we plan to produce are renewable hydrogen and its derivatives (RFNBOs, e.g., renewable methanol, renewable ammonia, e-kerosene (SAF+). We will be setting up state-of-the-art technologies (water electrolysis, Fischer-Tropsch, and biofuel synthesis) that have technology readiness levels between 8-9 and are in commercialization. Technological parameters are tailor-made to meet specific requirements of each production facility by worldwide well-known suppliers. The production sites are located within industrial ecosystems and will contribute and benefit from local/national circular economies and economies of scale. General location advantages include 100% renewable electricity (primary feedstock for hydrogen production), process steam and district heating, CO2 feed, water, wastewater treatment, and road/rail infrastructure or direct access to shipping infrastructure. |

Renewable hydrogen offers the best ways to decarbonise a range of hard-to-abate sectors. These include long-haul transport, power generation, chemicals, and many energy-intensive industrial sectors where it is proving difficult to significantly reduce emissions with traditional techniques. This way we also want to help improve air quality and strengthen energy security. Technologies already available today enable us to produce, store, transport hydrogen and then consume its energy. Its production is carbon-free when using 100% renewable energies instead of fossil resources. It can be transported as a pressurised gas or in liquid form by pipelines, ships or trucks. It can be transformed into electricity, ammonia and methane to feed industry and power plants and be transformed into fuels for cars, trucks, ships, and planes. Hydrogen and hydrogen-based fuels can transport energy over long distances – from regions with abundant renewable resources to energy-hungry clients thousands of kilometres away. Renewable hydrogen is produced from the regenerative energy carriers by the safe means of water electrolysis. The compound H2O molecule is split into its components hydrogen and oxygen in an electrolyser with the help of electric current. The electricity provided for the electrolysis process in Hy2gen-plants is obtained exclusively from renewable sources (i.e. hydropower, wind power, solar energy, geothermal energy, biomass, landfill gas, and sewage gas). Hy2gen AG and its subsidiaries produce renewable hydrogen by means of alkaline electrolysis or polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM). |
